President of the Regina Roughriders

President of the Western Interprovincial Football Union (WIFU)

Clair J. Warner began his playing career in 1919, two years after his family had moved to Regina from South Dakota. During Warner's playing time with the Roughriders, the club appeared in the Grey Cup game four times (1928 - 1931).

Following his playing days, Warner held positions on the executive committees of the Roughriders and the WIFU. He also served for five years on the Canadian Rugby Union (CRU) rules committee.

At the 1956 Grey Cup dinner, Clair Warner was presented with the CRU plaque for his outstanding contribution to football.

Inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum in 1965 as a builder.
