Jack Matheson

Winnipeg born, Jack Matheson worked at the Winnipeg Tribune from 1946 to 1980, the last 21 years as its sports editor.

As its football writer for 27 years, and one of the strongest supporters of the Canadian Football League (CFL), he covered 700 Winnipeg Blue Bomber games and every Grey Cup since 1953.

He authored the book entitled Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Football with Don Jonas in 1973, and was a regular on CJOB's Football Hotline and served on the selection committee of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum.

Inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame-Media Wing in 1986
