Career Highlights

  • Played 132 games for the Calgary Stampeders.

  • 43 career touchdowns.

  • 5th on the Calgary Stampeders All-Time career yards list with 6,693 (as of 2015).

Herman (Ham Hands) Harrison started out as a linebacker with the Calgary Stampeders, but when quarterback Eagle Day noticed he had good hands, the Stampeders had him moved to Tight End.

In the 1969 and 1970 seasons, Harrison led the western conference in pass receptions, with 68 and 70 respectively. His 1,306 yards in receptions was the Canadian Football League (CFL) highest in 1968.

On September 2, 1970, Harrison had a career game versus the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, when he pulled in four touchdown passes, just one short of the league record.

In 1968, Harrison won the Calgary Stampeders MVP and was award the President's Award.

Inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum in 1993 as a player.
