A prolific scorer, Robinson was the first player to score 1,000 points in the Canadian Football League (CFL), when he did it on July 25, 1974 versus the BC Lions. Fans well remember his dramatic field goal in a Regina blizzard to secure the Calgary Stampeders western final victory in 1970

Robinson was a recipient of the president's award in 1972 as the Stampeders Most Valuable Player.

Larry Robinson is also a member of the Calgary Stampeders Wall of Fame.
