Joe Poplawski electrified fans with his versatility and all-around athletic ability. He even tried his hand at kicking when Trevor Kennerd was injured in 1986.

Joe Poplawski was nominated the Most Valuable Bomber in 1978 and 1980 through 1984.

Joe Poplawski is also a member of the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame and the Winnipeg Football Club Hall of Fame.

Inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum in 1998 as a player.
