Career Highlights

Leroy Blugh had a successful collegiate and professional career. During his time with the Bishop's Gaiters in Lennoxville, Quebec, Blugh amassed numerous records with Bishop's University and in the Canadian Intercollegiate Athletic Union (CIAU). Blugh is third and ninth all-time on the CIAU Single Season list with 12 and 10 quarterback sacks respectively in the 1987 and 1988 season. Once his collegiate career was completed, Blugh was the first OQIFC player to gather three Defensive Player of the Year awards.

After college, Blugh spent 14 seasons with the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Edmonton Eskimos and the Toronto Argonauts. During his career with the CFL, he has two West Division All-Star selections.

Once his playing career was over, Blugh decided to return to his Alma matter in Bishop's and coached the Gaiters for six seasons from 2006 until 2011. During his time as Head Coach, Blugh navigated the Gaiters to their first winning season in 2007. Their first winning season since 1995. Also during his time as head coach, Blugh directed the Gaiters to their first playoff berth since the 2002 season, which was a seven year span.

Inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum in 2015 as a player.
