E.K. (Eddie) Emerson served football in Ottawa for more than 50 years. He began his career as a Centre, and then played more than 20 years as a Fullback and Linebacker.

Emerson was the club president twice; the first time while he was still playing during the 1930 and 1931 season. He was a member of the Ottawa executive for more than 40 years and was a member of the Interprovincial Rugby Football Union (IPRFU) executive for 25 years.
He held the record in Canadian football for most seasons played with 22 seasons under his belt at the time at his induction.

E.K. (Eddie) Emerson was honoured at a Grey Cup dinner and is also a member of the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame.

Inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum in 1963 as a player.
