After the Grey Cup game against the Hamilton Tigers, one of the players said, "Sure, Winnipeg won the Grey Cup. But they had a greyhound to fetch it."

Melvin (Fritz) Hanson is also a member of the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame, and the Winnipeg Football Club Hall of Fame.
