Career Highlights

  • Played 177 games in his Canadian Football League career.

  • 3rd on the Edmonton Eskimos Al-Time most points scored in a career with 677.

  • 2nd on the Edmonton Eskimos All-Time most Touchdowns in a career with 79.

John (Jackie) Parker played Halfback, Quarterback, and Wide Receiver, as well as a placement kicker and punter.

Parker was the Canadian Football League (CFL) scoring leader in 1959 and 1961 and had a career total of 750 points. Parker had 5,210 rushing yards and 2,308 yards in pass receptions and as a quarterback, Parker completed 1,089 passes for 16,476 yards.

Parker last season was with the BC Lions where he was a player/coach, and once he retired as a active player, he was a coach until he moved to a general manager position until 1975.

Parker was named the CFL player of the quarter century.

Jackie Parker is also a member of the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, Edmonton Sports Hall of Fame, and Canada's Sports Hall of Fame.

Inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum in 1971 as a player.
