Career Highlights

  • Played 36 games with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

  • Led the Western Interprovincial Rugby Union (WIFU) during the 1940 season.

Arthur Stevenson came to Canada after a brilliant collegiate career at Hastings College in Nebraska. In 1937, a reporter described Stevenson as "One of the finest all-around backfielders in college football".

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers went to the Grey Cup four of the five seasons Stevenson was on the team. He scored in the 1938 game and the following year kicked the winning point to lead the Blue Bombers over the Ottawa Rough Riders.

Arthur Stevenson is also a member of the Winnipeg Football Club Hall of Fame.

Inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum in 1969 as a player.
