Alfred Henry (Cap) Fear started his Canadian football career with the Toronto Central YMCA Juniors, and played on the same team with other Canadian Football Hall of Fame members such as, Lionel Conacher and Harry Batstone.

Fear was a great outside wing who helped his teams win six Interprovincial Rugby Football Union (IPRFU) championships, and three Grey Cup victories.

While playing for the Toronto Argonauts, his team lost only one game during the 1921 and 1922 seasons.

In addition to football, Fear participated in hockey, was a runner-up welterweight champion of Canada in boxing and stroked for the Argonauts Rowing Club.

Inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum in 1967 as a player.
