Career Highlights

  • Added to the Edmonton Eskimos' Wall of Honour in 1992.

  • 4th on the Edmonton Eskimos All-Time Most Fumbles returns in a career with 18.

  • 4th on the Edmonton Eskimos All-Time Most Defensive Tackles in a career with 465.

Danny Bass attended Michigan State University before beginning his career in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Toronto Argonauts.

In 1981, after a season with the Toronto Argonauts, Bass was traded to the Calgary Stampeders, and was named an All-Western and All-Canadian Linebacker in 1982 and 1983. Bass continued his stellar CFL career from 1984 to 1991 with provincial rivals, Edmonton Eskimos and continued to numerous awards and honours.

Some highlights of his twelve year career included 23 interceptions for a total of 243 yards returned and 1 touchdown, 21 fumbles recovered for a total of 109 yards and 2 touchdowns, and 52 quarterback sacks.

Inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum in 2000 as a player.
