Tony (A.G.) Anselmo began his involvement with the Calgary Stampeders in 1973 and the McMahon Stadium Society in 1974. His time and dedication helped to successfully fundraise over $32,000,000.00 worth of improvements to McMahon stadium. In addition, Anselmo played a major role during the 1986-1987 "Save our Stamps" campaign.

In 1991, Anselmo was a major partner in the successful transition of the Calgary Stampeders from a community-based team to private ownership.

Tony Anselmo was instrumental in the creation of the Calgary Stampeders Wall of Fame committee.

Tony (A.G.) Anselmo is also a member of the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and the Calgary Stampeders Wall of Fame.

Inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum in 2009 as a builder.
