Career Highlights

Lui Passaglia graduated from Notre Dame high school, where he played Quarterback. At Simon Fraser University, Passaglia played Wide Receiver as well as handling the kicking chores. In the 1976 Canadian College Draft, he was selected as the fifth pick overall by the BC Lions and spent his entire career with the team.

In 1987, he was the first player to score over 200 points in a season when he scored 214.

Passaglia held the Canadian Football League (CFL) records when he retired; for most converts with 1,014 (560 consecutive), most field goals with 875, best field goal percentage in a season at 90.9%), and most single points with 309. He was the all-time punt leader with 3,142 punts for 133,826 yards, with the highest average in a season of 50.2 yards in 1983.

In the playoffs, Passaglia held the record for most points with 210 and tied for most field goals with 48 and the longest punt of 89 yards.

Lui Passaglia is also a member of the BC Sports Hall of Fame.

Inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum in 2004 as a player.
