Carroll (Wayne) Harris, nicknamed "Thumper" has won nearly every honour available to a linebacker.

Harris played his entire career with the Calgary Stampeders after being an exceptional competitor with the University of Arkansas.
Wayne Harris was nominated nine times for the Schenley Award for Most Outstanding Lineman and twice for the Schenley Award for Most Outstanding Player award. Harris was the recipient of the Calgary Stampeders President's Award twice in his career in 1967 and 1970.

Inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum in 1976 as a player.
