Norman “Normie” Kwong

Norman (Normie) Kwong, known as the “China Clipper”, was one of the premier running backs in Western Canada for 13 seasons.

Kwong rushed 9,022 yards on 1,745 carries and scored 78 touchdowns. Kwong was the Western Division leading rusher in 1951, 1955, 1956, and had more than 1,000 yards four seasons in a row.

A strong blocker and excellent faker, Kwong was known for his sense of humour.

Normie Kwong is also a member of the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame.
